Financial Support To Third Parties

This July, the first edition of Emprèn Agro Bio was officially launched at Parc Agrobiotech Lleida. The new acceleration programme, promoted by FEMAC, AFRUCAT, Lleida City Council, the University of Lleida and Eurecat Academy, brings together the former Emprèn Agro Cat and Emprèn BIO 4.0 programmes to strengthen support for innovative entrepreneurship in the agrifood sector, the bioeconomy and agricultural production technologies.

 

The launch event brought together representatives of the five partner organisations, who highlighted the importance of joining forces to deliver a more comprehensive, specialised programme aligned with the sector's current and future challenges.

On 23 and 24 June, FEMAC participated in the S3 Community of Practice Annual Conference 2026, held in Brussels and organised by the European Commission.

Now in its fifth edition, the conference brought together representatives from European institutions, regional governments, clusters and other innovation ecosystem stakeholders to discuss the future of Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3).

This year's edition focused on the role of S3 strategies in strengthening Europe's competitiveness, fostering a more integrated industrial policy and improving coordination between regions. From 8 to 12 June 2026, Ares Marí, from FEMAC, participated in the Barcelona Competitiveness Summer School, an international programme organised by the Foundation for Clusters and Competitiveness and IESE Business School, bringing together professionals, policymakers and cluster organisations from around the world to explore the factors that drive the competitiveness of industries and territories.

This participation forms part of FEMAC’s strategy to strengthen cluster management excellence, internationalisation and capacity building, with the aim of incorporating new methodologies and tools into the projects and initiatives promoted by the cluster.

The 13th FEMAC Strategic Immersion brought together companies, technology centers and agents from the agricultural production means sector to reflect together on the great future challenges of the Catalan agro-industrial sector.

The day included a presentation by Diego Torres on business strategy and family business, as well as the participatory dynamic “Where are we heading?”, moderated by Alberto Pezzi, based on the conclusions of the strategic study of the sector prepared by PwC.

During the working sessions, the participants identified challenges, actions and opportunities related to innovation, competitiveness, digitalization, talent and internationalization, reinforcing FEMAC as a space for collaboration and building a shared strategy for the future of the sector.


From 20 to 25 April 2026, the FEMAC Cluster led a business mission to Chile aimed at strengthening the international presence of its member companies and opening new opportunities in one of the most dynamic agricultural markets in Latin America.

This initiative is part of the cluster’s internationalisation strategy and is closely linked to the development of the JYGSA project, a business alliance designed to promote the joint international expansion of the sector.
