FEMAC organises a session on opportunities in the Indian market for agricultural technology companies

On 9 October, FEMAC held a session focused on exploring the opportunities offered by the Indian market for Catalan agricultural machinery and technology companies. Organised with the support of ACCIÓ, the event provided an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of this market's needs and identify areas with growth potential for cluster members.

During the session, Arcusin and ITC shared their experiences and success stories in India, offering practical insights into the opportunities available and the key considerations for developing business activities in the country.

Opportunities in mechanisation and irrigation

India offers opportunities for the agricultural machinery and technology sector, particularly in areas such as agricultural mechanisation and the implementation of more efficient irrigation systems.

The technological needs of India's agricultural sector create opportunities for Catalan companies offering solutions adapted to the specific characteristics of the market. However, entering this market requires an understanding of local conditions, customer needs and agricultural practices. Adapting technological and commercial solutions to the country's specific requirements is therefore essential.

Finding the right local partner

One of the main conclusions of the session was the importance of choosing the right local partner as a key factor in developing a market-entry strategy for India.

Understanding the business environment, establishing appropriate distribution channels and working with a partner who understands local market needs can facilitate commercial relationships and support companies in establishing a presence in the country. Furthermore, India may provide an opportunity to explore other Southeast Asian markets and expand international business opportunities for companies in the sector.

FEMAC supports the internationalisation of its member companies

Through initiatives such as this session, FEMAC continues to help cluster members identify new business opportunities, facilitate the exchange of experiences and strengthen their international presence.

FEMAC would like to thank Arcusin and ITC for their participation and contribution to the session, as well as all attendees for their interest. FEMAC also thanks ACCIÓ for its support in organising this initiative.
