This July, the first edition of Emprèn Agro Bio was officially launched at Parc Agrobiotech Lleida. The new acceleration programme, promoted by FEMAC, AFRUCAT, Lleida City Council, the University of Lleida and Eurecat Academy, brings together the former Emprèn Agro Cat and Emprèn BIO 4.0 programmes to strengthen support for innovative entrepreneurship in the agrifood sector, the bioeconomy and agricultural production technologies.
The launch event brought together representatives of the five partner organisations, who highlighted the importance of joining forces to deliver a more comprehensive, specialised programme aligned with the sector's current and future challenges.
Emprèn Agro Bio builds on the experience of both previous programmes, which together have supported 78 participants and helped 47 companies to be created, consolidated or expand through new business lines.
The new programme broadens its scope by supporting projects related to the bioeconomy, circular and regenerative economy, the agrifood sector, agricultural production technologies and digital solutions, promoting an integrated approach across the entire value chain.
Participants will benefit from 88 hours of specialised training covering innovation, technology and business management through a combination of face-to-face and online sessions, as well as company visits and real success stories.
In addition, the programme offers 100 hours of personalised mentoring, tailored to each project's stage of development, with guidance from entrepreneurs, business professionals, researchers and experts from the agrifood and technology ecosystem.
FEMAC will contribute its extensive experience in innovation and technology transfer within the agricultural production sector, together with a network of more than 80 member companies, startups, technology centres and universities, enabling participants to validate ideas, develop proof-of-concept projects and connect with real market needs.
Emprèn Agro Bio will begin on 15 September and will run until December in a blended learning format.
The programme is aimed at entrepreneurs, startups and companies looking to develop or scale innovative projects related to agrifood, the bioeconomy, sustainability, digitalisation and agricultural production technologies.
